Kent Angelettes |
We are a Baton Twirling Club based on the Isle of Sheppey Kent. We try to make our training sessions fun and if you would like to take the sport further you can give competitions a go! In part of our team training sessions, we have our own grading program (mainly set up for our complete beginners). This has been introduced to try and encourage students to reach their highest goals. Students are rewarded with medals and certificates at no extra cost to yourselves once they pass their grades.
Our experienced twirlers compete at the BBTSA Team National Champonships each year. Part of their training sessions consist of learning new routines for this competition and part of our training sessions consist of learning new twirl and dance techniques to help our twirlers individually advance.
To help with the correct technique of twirling, there is an element of ballet, dance and gymnastics taught, which also puts the fun into baton twirling. We also use pom poms from time to time when displays, carnivals and competitions arise.
Our training sessions are never dull as we always have something to work towards whether it be a competition, display or learning new twirls. Parents are always well informed in what goes on in our club either by newsletter or meetings. Feedback is always welcome from parents to help with the running of the club.
We have a club director, 5 coaches, a treasurer and fundraising committee. This helps keep the club running efficiently and successfully.
If you are interested, your first session will be free and we will give you a copy of our Club Rules and Constitution for you to refer to and keep. We can guarantee that once you pick up a baton, it will be very hard to put it back down again. This sport is very “catching”.
