Nicola Collins

I've been baton twirling since the age of 8 (six years) and loved every minute of if even when times are tough! My trainer Angie helps me and teaches me new twirling techniques and tricks. My mum does all the accounts for the club and my sister is a trainer for the younger ones. The oldest team (my team) won 1st at the Nationals last year for doing Dance Twirl, 4th for freestyle and for pom pom. Next year we will be in Novice (scary) for Dance Twirl but we will still be in beginner for freestyle and pom pom. I’m so excited! But before that we’ve got Portsmouth, which is where the National Championships are held for individuals. I’m doing Solo and Basic Strut. Good luck to everyone (break a leg).

I have been twirling since I was 8 years old.  I started at Queenborough Majorettes but after a year I moved and I joined Kent Angelettes.  I throughly enjoy baton twirling at Kent Angelettes its such fun.  I have come 8th at the National Championships in Portsmouth and our Junior Team became National Champions last year.  As well as being in the team I also help Kerry and Angie with the younger girls on a Wednesday as they can be a handful lol 'just kidding'! I also help out a guide group in Minster on a Tuesday.  Baton twirling has now taken over my life, my year is now planning around big competitions and I am always having ato check I am not going twirling when I want to go out with my friends.  I wouldn't change a thing.
